Vintage Cottage

This traditional cottage-style home had many of its original 1980s finishes still intact, including wallpaper and bathroom materials. The two-story entryway was dark and unappointed, and the vaulted great room with low side walls and windows wasn’t meeting its potential, with cool white paint falling flat and a mishmash of furniture, exercise equipment and toys.

The clients hired Sparrow to thoughtfully bring vitality, color and pattern to their home; to enliven and design elegance for their entryway; and deliver a combination of sophistication and coziness to their great room, which would serve both as a family space and a spot to host guests. We were also hired to re-envision the long and narrow full bathroom that serves both their young daughter and overnight guests. Sparrow designed and sourced all materials, furniture, paint pallet, window treatments, lighting and accessories—a combination of new and antique.

Total time was 8 months from design to completion of remodel work
