1950's Bungalow

Our clients, new homeowners of this sweet red brick midcentury bungalow, wanted to finish the basement level, create a lovely family room, two bedrooms and bathroom for their boys, and an office for him. Renovations of the home in the time since it was built, left it feeling stylistically fragmented and non-cohesive. Like so many of our remodel project, this home no longer had a cohesive or clear story. It had lost its design voice over the year. And it’s always an honor to bring that back OR make it even better than ever. We believe we accomplished that with this sweet home for a wonderful family.

What was formerly half unfinished and the rest bland and lackluster, became a full 1200 SF of living space exactly to their request, complete with myriad custom features from millwork to cabinetry, tiled tub to gorgeous cushions and pillows for the new under-stair nook—arguably the crown jewel of the space. Honoring the best of midcentury, from color pallets, to wood casings and doors, hardware, millwork profiles, wallpaper, tile, profiles and patterns, it’s a full invitation back to the best of midcentury design that offers fresh and modern living to this young family.
