Ultra Grip Multi Purpose Primer. Though I just discovered a write up on this product, and haven’t tried it yet, it looks like one of those products that could carry the weight of “making the job”.These are the kinds of products everyone should have in their arsenal for home projects.
Dunn-Edwards Corporation is the manufacturer. They claim this primer is suitable for interior and exterior surfaces including wood, masonry, metal (non ferrous), drywall, and fiberglass, it even sticks to old enamel paint. It’s 100% acrylic and functions as a stain blocker. Apparently the high quantity of solids form a tight film that offers superior hide properties.
It meets the Master Painter Institute’s Green Performance Standard and the FDA’s guidelines for direct food contact surfaces. It also achieves California’s Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) indoor air quality standard with 45 grams per liter VOC. It cleans up with soap and water and one gallon covers about 400 square feet.
This sounds like a nice product, I plan to check it out on my next painting project and knowing me, that will be soon!
