Introducing the Billy Frank Leadership Academy, a remarkable sustainable building project poised to set a new benchmark in green construction. Nestled in the independent native community of Franks Landing, this 1,800 square-foot academy embodies resilience and innovation, proudly pursuing the prestigious Passive House certification—one of the highest standards for sustainable buildings globally. Designed to withstand floods and built with triple-paned windows and Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) systems, the academy achieves net-zero energy through a harmonious blend of solar panels, hyper-comfortable mechanicals, and naturally sourced local materials. Inspired by the traditional longhouse, its design captures the eastern light and views, while engaging expansive exterior community spaces for traditional net-making and teaching. This visionary project not only embraces the essence of sustainability but also honors and uplifts the rich cultural heritage of Franks Landing.
