We would like to introduce you to a new addition to our design team, Roussa Cassel. Before joining us at Artisan's Group, Roussa has most recently been working as a free lance designer of energy-efficient homes and commercial interiors, in and around our fair city of Olympia where she has lived for the last 10 years. She is a graduate of the Evergreen State College and the University of Oregon, both well known for their emphasis on sustainable design. During her Masters in Architecture program she traveled to Finland and China where she completed specialized courses of study, as well as to nine other countries to research European architecture. Upon returning, Roussa spent two years at the U of O Portland Campus focusing on Urban centered design and digital fabrication. She designed such notable works as the newest Olympia Coffee Roasters location on Capitol and the residence Modern Foursquare, a home for a well know local artist (photos below).
She was hired at Artisan's Group to assist our lead architect, Tessa Smith and drafting staff in the design of new homes and remodels. If you are from the Olympia area, you may have noticed that Artisan's Group has been experiencing an increased demand for our custom passive house and pocket houses. However, we have recently established ourselves and started several projects in the Seattle Area as well, cementing our passion for serving the Region. Our expanded design department will ensure that we keep up with demand and build more innovative homes throughout the region! We welcome you Roussa and look forward to our future projects together.
