Northwest Mountain Lodge

One of our largest remodels to date, design work on this 11,000 SF home began in early 2021. The house was formerly without an identity. Part contemporary Pacific Northwest, part neoclassical, and all buried under a whole lot of red and yellow faux brick and blue hardy siding, she was lost inside all the chaos. Our clients hired us to remove the chaos, find her voice and develop the story that was both hers and theirs. They wanted a space where they could relax, get away, rest and also play with their family members.

With a total of 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a commercial sized kitchen and butler pantry, home theater, and more, we reconfigured and re-envisioned whole sections of the home. We added 2 new bathrooms, a dedicated spa with stone soaking tub and tile/paneled walls, snack/ice cream parlor and library with custom casework, chiropractic studio with a public entrance, and game room. We also added an elevator and dumbwaiter, to help the clients age in place over the coming years. We fully furnished the home top and bottom, designed layered window treatments throughout, gorgeous custom rugs, and upholstered furniture and lighting. We commissioned artworks inspired by the home, its surroundings, the Pacific Northwest and the interiors. We also redesigned their grand two story back deck designed with full kitchen, custom stone fireplace feature wall, and living and dining spaces. And we worked closely with the landscape designers and contractor to craft a stunning landscape design inspired by alpine environments.

Over time, getting to know and work thoughtfully with our clients, our amazing partners, and the home herself, we had the honor of helping her write her own story. She is now confidently a “Contemporary Pacific Northwest Mountain Lodge.” But she has a sense of humor too.
