Franklin Street Harm Reduction

Franklin Street Harm Reduction’s new facility in downtown Olympia reimagines community health space through the lens of dignity, accessibility, and care. The design transforms a modest mid-century commercial structure into a vibrant, trauma-informed environment that reflects the organization’s mission of compassion and inclusion.

The building’s exterior, defined by geometric lavender tones and a dynamic façade composition, establishes an approachable and uplifting presence within the urban streetscape. Inside, a palette of soft purples, warm woods, and natural light creates a calming atmosphere intended to reduce stress and foster connection.

Inside, visitors will find a warm and welcoming environment offering harm reduction supplies, education, and peer support, along with community programs like art and games groups, wellness workshops, and safer use resources. The new space includes private counseling rooms, an inviting community area, and colorful artwork that celebrates creativity, healing, and dignity.

With its open layout, affirming atmosphere, and continued commitment to serving Olympia’s most vulnerable residents, Franklin Street Harm Reduction building embodies how thoughtful design can advance public health and social equity through architecture that is empathetic, accessible, and deeply human.
