Conner McCleery

ARCHITECTURAL ASSOCIATE

“I believe in designing and building in a way that impacts the world the least.”

Conner is a drafter who builds plan sets and 3D models. After completing the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Technology program at South Puget Sound Community College, he started in the Sustainable Building Science Technology program at South Seattle College. He has his eye on a master’s degree in architecture.

As far as Conner’s design style goes, it’s all about sustainability. “I like a lot of wood, not a lot of concrete. I’m excited about things like performing carbon life analyses to make sure we’re making a minimal impact with our materials.”

Conner is excited to be diving into a second career after serving in the military. “I didn’t have a passion for design until later in life but I’m proud of being a non-traditional student. I took my first drafting class because I wanted to build custom bike frames but the instructor was super passionate and it rubbed off on me. I’ve been fixated on architecture ever since.”
