Evolution of a Passive House

At the beginning of this year, we reported on the evolution of the Passive House project we call the Vogel House. At that time, the framing and air sealing were being completed, and we are happy to report that this certified Passive House met all the stringent standards for being air tight (o.o6 at 50 air changes/hr) and is now progressing nicely!

Situated on a large grassy meadow and surrounded by woods, the small, low-slung modern home is a haven of beauty. The owners are enthusiastic gardeners who love to cook, so they wanted their home to have that same kind of earthy connection with the outdoors. To achieve this, the kitchen was placed as a focal point of the home, and the open floor plan and the glass box window style take advantage of the long, beautiful views.

Now it has been sheet-rocked, the siding is going up, and the finishes are going in. It won't be long now before we put those finishing touches on this stunning project. Take a look at this collection of photos and let our excitement rub off on you!
