Next weekend, August 20-21, marks our participation in the free annual Tour of Homes, where the work of local architects, builders and designers are featured, thanks to the Olympia Master Builders. Last year, one of our homes won Judges' Choice - Best of Show and we hope to wow the crowds this year, too. The Tour of Homes is a great opportunity to discover more of the Olympia area, meet the artists who are shaping the landscape of the residential scene, and see some great interiors and exteriors to inspire you. And if next weekend is already booked for you, the Tour of Homes resumes the following weekend, August 27-28, as well.

Tour of Homes & Chefs on Tour
New this year is the Chefs on Tour, featuring five homes on the Tour paired with the dishes of local celebrated chefs. We are particularly stoked because one of those five is the kitchen remodel of our very own architect, Tessa Smith. A mid-century modern fusion, her stunning kitchen remodel kept all the charm of its original rambler while bringing it up-to-par with the needs of frequent entertaining. The original design was a cramped, small kitchen that was closed off from the rest of the home. But with the removal of a wall, maintaining the original transom opening and installing floor length windows, the new kitchen transformed into an airy great room, anchored by a large, inviting quartz island to gather around. Accented with gold tones and fir materials to complement its vintage heritage, this is everything that MCM should be.
And now that the renovation is complete, come be entertained by Tessa and dine in her newly redesigned kitchen! Buy a ticket to Chefs on Tour and you'll enjoy an evening of music, cocktails and food prepared by the marvelous local chef and business owner, Lela Cross, of Dillingers Cocktails and Kitchen.
